What you see around town in Mazatlán

February 25, 2012

I try to have the camera with me whenever I go out.  I hope you enjoy a bit of what we see when we’re out and about in Mazatlán.

Limes and salt in Mazatlan
On the table wherever people gather for a beer - limes and salt.

Carnival Mazatlan 2012
We followed this Carnival statue for several miles along the malecón.

Moto-tienda Mazatlan
Doesn't everyone drive their moto-tienda along the road with their friend and her chihuahua? The Pacifico brewery is ahead of them.

Beach Volleyball Mazatlan
Beach volleyball - I think one team is waiting (in red), I saw a ref walk up after I snapped this. (taken today 2-25-12)

Tree Brace Mazatlan
In a community where most trees are trimmed with a machete it is nice to see one so lovingly cared for. Last summer when there was work being done to the building they constructed this brace.

That’s all for now, see you soon!

    1. I love your pictures! We, too, have taken pictures of the tree that has the great crutch holding it up. How very inventive!

    1. Beautiful photos, especially the first. The Moto-Tienda cracked me up…but, it beats pushing your tienda to it’s new location. The chihuahua looks like it’s enjoying the cruise.

      1. Sandy, Thanks so much! I figured I wasn’t the only one who noticed the crutch!

Marty, Yes, it was a wonderful day for a bike ride. But then, almost all days are perfect here – at least in the winter!

Francisco, Thank you! And I called it a moto-tienda but I think it is a tostilocos vendor. Do you know them? Here’s a great video: http://youtu.be/jU4N-METflY

    1. I watched to video of the tostilocos…in Texas we have a Frito-Pie on the menu of drive-in restaurants. Fritos, (canned)chili-con-carne, topped with onions and cheese…the tostilocos look like a Frito-Pie on steroids. Hijole!
