Dia de los Muertos

We flew to México City at the end of October for a couple of weeks, and it was our good luck to be there for El Dia de los Muertos!  What fun we had! In my previous post I shared a few pictures from one of the parades.  In the album below you will see pictures from our day in Coyoacán, our shopping for flowers and candles for our home altar as well as taking Consuelo out for La Noche...

Fun Parade for Day of the Dead in Mexico City

A couple of hours after arriving in México City we met our son and the family to go to the Día da de Los Muertos parade on Paseo de la Reforma. Sadly, the empty frame remains in our...

Remembering loved ones…

Tomorrow is the Day of the Dead, and we put together a little altar to remember our loved ones who have passed on.  Pictured are my parents, who died way too young.  My mother was only 41 and my father 56.  Paul’s parents are pictured, too – they lived longer – into their 70’s.  There is also a picture of “Papa when he was a girl” – my maternal grandfather, born in 1898, wearing a dress in the days where...
