Getting a Little Boost

Paul and I were happy to line up for Covid-19 vaccines here in México back in March and May of 2021. Our age group here at Lake Chapala was given the Sinovac vaccine. When it became clear that we would all need booster shots to extend their efficacy, I started watching the news and Twitter for what was being recommended for those of us vaccinated with Sinovac. It took a while, but finally I learned that a number of countries...

What does your crystal ball tell you?

Today I read the plan for vaccine distribution here in México. While I am amazed and thrilled that such effective vaccines have been developed so quickly I am shocked that they don’t expect to start immunizing the general (under 40) population until June 2021. I know it’s a huge project and they are likely trying to set expectations so everyone doesn’t think our lives will be back to normal very soon. 2020 madness

How is everyone doing? Paul and I are managing, not loving it but grateful for so much. Every day I am thankful for my partner, for our home and pets and friends and food to eat. I am even more aware of my white privilege and am committed to being anti-racist in every way possible. But the truth of this time is that the stress is incredible and we all feel it. I do keep busy, as you probably do, too. I exercise...

Activities to Enjoy at Home

We’re all in the same boat – unexpectedly spending all of our time at home. I’ve been saving links to fun things to explore online and thought others might enjoy it too. I’ll keep updating this post as I find more to share in the future. The picture at the top is a face mask I made using the pattern below. Books Explore Open Culture… much more than books Internet Archive – free books, music, etc. The Stay At Home...

What Now?

Well here we are, the entire world is in the midst of a pandemic. Pretty scary stuff! Everyone needs to evaluate what to do for themselves but the main thing we are hearing from experts is that if the virus is spreading in the community (meaning not just from returning travelers) that reducing your contact with others and stringent hand washing protocols are the way to go. Social distancing is key to reducing the spread of this awful virus. There...
