A little stop along the way!

Lucy and Henry

We’ve been in San Francisco since Friday night. This is my hometown – I lived here until I was 16 – my best friend is here in the city and my sister in Berkeley.

We spent Saturday with my sister and her husband prowling around Berkeley. It was great. We had never been to their house – seems like every time we have been in the city they have been out of town. Solano Street is teeming with people, wonderful stores and restaurants, and was fun to explore.

We took the dogs on a really long walk and got to see everything she has talked about for years. Going to the Alice Waters garden at the M.L.King school was an extra treat. My sister had a big project to prepare for at work so I was happy we could get her mind off it for a day.

Yesterday and today we are spending with my best friend. Yesterday we drank gallons of coffee and talked and talked. Polish food. Wine. Looking at old pictures. Today we finally hit a cafe with wireless…can you believe my friend does not have a computer??? Soon we will go out for Dim Sum and maybe go to the beach. We are trying to eat all the foods that we might miss in Mexico – Thai is the only one we haven’t had yet that I know I will miss.

Tomorrow early we head to LA. The following day to Tuscon. Then Thursday cross the border at Nogales. Depending on how long it takes at the border we will then be able to figure out where we’ll stay overnight in Mexico on our way to Mazatlan.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. It is really great to feel like we have a lot of people rooting for us!

    1. I just bumped into your site, sounds very exciting that you’re making a big move!! Hope everything goes well. I went to Mazatlan to visit my aunt-in-law last summer and it was amazing, but soo hot and humid!
Your guys’ house looks really nice though.
So goodluck with everything and I know you’ll love living there!

(sorry about the previous post, I saw a spelling error and just had to repost)

I found your blog about 9 months ago and watched the countdown…can’t believe the time is here!
P.S. Your new house in Mazatlan is stunning!
