Mazatlan in the morning

July 30, 2012

It’s lovely in the morning here.  The sun doesn’t hit the malecón full on until sometime after 8 so if you get out early it is actually nice and cool.  Today I rode my bike North to Valentino’s and thought I’d share a couple of pictures with you.

I love being out when the malecón is full of exercisers – people are walking with weights,  jogging, running, skating, and biking.  There are fewer hazards –  inattentive children with little dogs on stretchy leashes, lovers arm in arm with eyes for no one but each other, or old folks being pushed in their wheelchairs while their aides chat.  It’s mostly business in the morning, but business with lots of smiling, of course.  This is Mazatlán, after all!

Below is a panorama from this morning, click to enlarge.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful morning too – wherever you are!

    1. This morning I am sitting in my house in Salem reading Mexico blogs. And remembering how five years ago I was depending on the advice of others in planning my move south. Your blog, of course, was one of the best sources for that information. Thanks again for sharing.

    1. We were there a couple of summers ago, contemplating retirement there. Hubby is still working, but still thinking of returning. Enjoy your blog and your photos! And I was amazed at how busy the malecon was in the morning with serious exercisers….our condo overlooked the malecon. Thanks for sharing your life there!

    1. Could that be your “sweat rag” on the handle of the bicycle?

      Lovely Panorama picture,

      1. Steve, Thanks for remembering that – hard to believe I’ve been blogging so long!

Mary, You’re welcome… and hope to see you back in Maz sometime soon!

Sandy, Oh, yeah… it’s my sweat rag (aka washcloth)… I stopped to drink some water and enjoy the view… and mop up a bit of course!

    1. I want to be there, too. I love that they take the old folks out to go along the beach! Worst thing for them is to be cooped up.

I can smell the sea air!

    1. I’ve been enjoying your blog for quite a while. For about 25 years my daughter and I used to visit Mazatlan every year and then “things” happened to void our trip for one reason or another, so it was only maybe every other year. We are hoping to get there again this October, like the second week. It’s still low season (for airfare and hotel) and not crowded. We’ve been there during spring break a couple of times years ago when she was still in school, and, whew, not for me. We have met and stayed in touch with a few friends, too, while there. Such a great place!!! If only…
