Semana Santa in Mazatlán

April 7, 2012

I love living in a place where people are always so happy. I think Semana Santa is the happiest time of all for Mazatlán visitors. People come from near and far to enjoy a relaxing springtime vacation here.

The weather is perfect – between 80 and 85 degrees – and it is beautiful and sunny with a fantastic breeze. Families set up an umbrella or some sort of shade and spend the entire day on the beach.

We went for a walk today to Playa Norte from around 11:30 to about 1:30. It was still a bit subdued but people will be arriving all afternoon and by the time I am writing this (4:45 pm) it is probably packed. There has been almost total gridlock in the golden zone, just like every year!

I took a bit of video showing what was going on while we were there, enjoy.

    1. Alot of people hate this week, I LOVE it! So much fun! You can barely walk a block without smiling or laughing over something. Not to mention meeting people from all over Mexico! In a few short days I have met new friends with whom I have standing invitations to go visit; places like Torreon, Leon, Guadalajara,Mexico City, and Durango.

    1. Cancun has been packed as well! I avoided the beaches this weekend because a few friends mentioned they were full and dirty 🙁 hope they’re pristine by next weekend!
