Mazatlan’s Carnival 2012 – Friday night at Olas Altas

February 18, 2012

Paul and I headed out to find some dinner and then check out what was going on at Carnival down at Olas Altas.  The big variety show headlining Filippa Giordano was at the baseball stadium, but there was plenty going on at Olas Altas for us!  Here is another photo tour of our evening, and there are a couple of videos, too.  Enjoy!

Below is a video (probably not work-safe) of the Pacifico Chope Stage with enthusiastic dancing

I hope you enjoyed the tour, it is always a fun and kind of crazy time.  The laser show was a bust due to wind but we still hope it will work out one of these nights!  This evening there is more fun, with the Burning of Bad Humor and the Naval Combat fireworks along with all the music and fun.

See you!

    1. Fantastic photos! We’ll be there tomorrow night. Too late for the combate, although my son still remembers almost getting crushed in a crowd the time we went. The tuesday parade is more our speed. Now to finish packing and hopefully get a little shut-eye tonight.

      1. Brian, You should go to the Sunday parade if you are up for it, Everything is all crisp and shiny. By Tuesday everyone is getting a bit tired – but we always go to both!

    1. It’s always possible we’ll be up for it, even after a 5 hour plane ride. I have no idea what to expect from myself and family after 4 years away, to say nothing of the rest of the family we haven’t seen in that time. It may be ‘no rest for the weary…’ My wife and son are already bouncing off the walls at the thought of being ‘home’.
