Yesterday we got a huge shock when we passed by the Plazuela Zaragoza! I had written about the lack of progress with the renovation of the Plazuela in my last post, and lo and behold – here is progress!
The kiosko looks like it is going to be beautiful! There are old-style lamp posts waiting to be installed.
There’s a circular stairway waiting to be installed, and a huge quantity of nice looking benches, too.
The tile needed to finish the paving still isn’t in evidence, but I am giving a hearty cheer for progress!

October 16, 2010What? No comments yet? In that case, the breach is mine. What a long drawn out project this has been but now that it is close to being finished, it is pretty exciting. So many things going on right now both good and bad; the bad mostly due to timing.
I am hoping to see a finished Plaza de Leon shortly, too, and have crossed fingers that the bilious green library is repainted. I am curious as to color of the Zaragoza gazebo, too. Thanks for your chronicle of the city.

October 16, 2010Zoe, it is exciting to see this finally come together, especially since I had read that they weren’t going to be using the original style wrought iron. But I am so happy to see that it will be appropriate for Centro Historico.
Plaza de los Leones still has a ways to go but I have my fingers crossed that it will be done soon.

October 19, 2010Looks beautiful so far. Just when you think things are going at manana pace, they surprise you and work quickly. It keeps us Gringos on our toes.
