It’s Springtime in Mazatlan

Spring is in full swing here in Mazatlán. The sun is higher in the sky, giving the plants in our central courtyard the rays they’ve been craving – our hibiscus plants have been blooming non-stop for a month! It’s been a bit over a month since my last post, probably the longest gap in posts ever here on Countdown to Mexico! Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to since Jess & Lourdes left at the end of March....

Life in Mazatlán

Life here is good.  For the ice cream seller every Sunday on the beach to teenagers enjoying the water on their boogie boards.  It’s all good. The video below is from last Friday.  It was around 6 pm and the schools were going to be closed both Monday and Tuesday.  A large group didn’t waste any time getting their boards and getting into the water.  Pretty nice.  As with any videos, you can adjust the quality once you’ve clicked Play...

I Love Spring in Mazatlán

I love the change of seasons, especially from Winter to Spring. As you’ll see above, we get a lot of fog in the mornings.  This morning the fog made everything so wet it seemed like it had rained. Why else do I love the Spring here? Even though it is warming up the air still has that lovely cool undercurrent. It’s the end of the growing season here…but I am growing cantelope melons – they should like the upcoming hot...
