Every time I go by this bougainvillea (above) I think about taking a picture of it. Last time I asked Paul to use his cell phone camera, so now you can see my favorite bougainvillea in town! (one block west of Belisario Dominguez on Calle Libertad)
The picture below reminded us of San Francisco’s Painted Ladies. Aren’t they adorable? These houses share the block with the actual house where Pedro Infante lived. (Constitución over near Rosales I think)
Then, just because I had nowhere else to show this picture, below is a picture of a piece of the wrought iron that was removed from the sala fresca. We had it installed in front of the bodega and plan on growing a vine on it that will obscure the mess in the bodega.

August 21, 2009Nancy, I must admit your picture of the bougainvillea is absolutely beautiful…Wow! Of course, the warm and bright colors of the houses are truly lovely as well. Looking forward to seeing photos of your “new” wall.

August 21, 2009canadiangrl, thanks for your kind words. tomorrow I will post about the sala fresca.
lindalou, I was quite happy with how the ironwork looks there, and I have a vine that needs transplanting that should be perfect. I’d love to see the painted ladies of Alamos, that would be great. I think these are actually painted children since they are such tiny houses with doors you would need to stoop to walk through!

August 22, 2009Wonderful pictures. I love the color of those flowers! Downtown Mazatlan is like other large city I have been in – it seems there are always cars parked in the frame of the picture you want. I have tried to get a pictue of Nid-Art for years without cars in the view, but have never even been close. More pictures please – they help me last through the work week.
