Mazatlán’s spectacular sunsets

August 12, 2009

We decided to go out yesterday for appetizers and a drink, and we headed for our favorite relaxing spot, Le Sorelle.  Red wine for me and a martini for Paul, and various wonderful appetizers shared for dinner.  New potatoes with aoili, assorted nuts and olives, and sun dried tomato bruschetta made for a delicious meal.

The Pedro Infante monument (above) is right across and I was thinking it would be funny to set up a webcam and take a picture of it every minute for a day.  So many people climb on behind him for a ride!  Then I realized that with the series of pictures below, I had almost done just that!

Mazatlán really does have more beautiful sunsets than anywhere I have been.  Every day is something almost more beautiful than the day before.  Summer sunsets seem even more spectacular, probably because of the clouds.

I hope you enjoy the photos below. They were taken over a period of about a half hour.

Share and Enjoy !

    1. WOW – that is certainly one thing I “miss” here in Cancun…. My dad loves the sunsets in Mazatlan, and tells me the ones I’ve seen in PV don’t compare!

Thanks for the photos 🙂 Gorgeous!

    1. Wow! How beautiful those colors are. What makes the sunsets so different in your area do you think? THe yellow is a color I have seen in a susnet in Portland but not so much anywhere else.

    1. Geeze…. Those pictures are phenomenal!!! GORGEOUS sunsets! You’re so fortunate to be able to see things like that on a daily basis.

    1. I have no idea why sunsets here are so spectacular. I have heard it over and over. But I do love enjoying them. It is amazing how long the usual sunset stretches, too. Sometimes it will be an hour before the color is gone and darkness comes.

    1. I like your pictures of the motorcycle monument, and love the sunset pictures.

    1. Woweeee! Ask me if I am glad to be back.:-) We are going to try LaSorelle soon, as I have been hearing more and more good things about it. Always looked so deserted, so didn’t follow up. Maybe we can meet for a cocktail some time in the net couple weeksw before you head north .

    1. Terry – Thank you so much!

Zoe – Of course you’re glad to be back! I hope you like Le Sorelle. We’d be game to get together anytime, too.
