Our New Look

September 10, 2017

Hi Everyone! I decided that summer was the perfect time for a blog refresh – you all don’t even want to know how messy it was behind the scene of my old look, but it’s getting much tidier back there now!

You will notice a few changes besides the color and graphics.  At the top of the page the links are different – now Resources has most of the pages you have been used to seeing in the menu bar… I have updated all pages and added a lot of new links, so I hope you’ll check them out.   So to explain a little:

ABOUT – is a page with information about us and some links we think you’ll like.

RESOURCES is a drop down list;

Mazatlán Links  –  A page you are likely familiar with with… lots of great links for you to explore that pertain to Mazatlán.

México City Links –   This is a new page pertaining to México City, which is bare bones right now but it will fill out soon.

Mexico Links –  This is a page you’ve seen before but I’ve updated  it recently.

Blogroll – I try to keep up to date on the best bloggers in Mexico, and the links are organized by location. If you’re planning to travel, it’s nice to read local bloggers before you go.

Video – Videos I’ve taken over the years

Photos – Photo galleries of Mazatlán, our travels, our home construction projects, and more.

CATEGORIES – This drop down list brings up all posts of the chosen category.  I am still working on recategorizing a lot of posts so be patient – there are still way too many uncategorized posts right now.

SOCIAL MEDIA – If you want to find me on social media, there are links here.  Please be advised my Twitter feed skews very liberal politically so don’t follow me if that would offend you… I value your friendship and readership too much!

CONTACT  This is simple, just use this form if you want to be in touch with me.  But if you want to comment on a blog post, please leave a comment at the end of the post. (It says “Leave a Comment” if you are the first or “# of Comments” if others have chimed in already.

The side bar isn’t much different, except if you want to subscribe by email to the blog you see the link there below the search bar. By the way, the search bar can be a handy tool if you want to find something quickly.

Some of the work that still needs to be done besides recategorizing posts has to do with giving each post it’s header picture, as my new theme handles them differently than the old one.  You’ll see that happen as this week proceeds.  I’m sure there are problems elsewhere that I will find in due time but if you find something you think I should know about please send me a comment and include the URL (the www.count blah blah) that you see in the address bar of your browser.  I would really appreciate it!

When we arrived in Mazatlán on September 21, 2007 who would have thought that I’d still be blogging all these years later?  I think a little refresh was just what I needed, don’t you?  At the top of the post is my favorite street art from our trip to Puebla in August

Share and Enjoy !

    1. Great new look, Nancy! I like it! I’ve been reading your blog a long time as we dreamed about becoming expat too. That dream. Is soon to be realized as we’ll be moving to Ajijic at the end of the month. Your early adventures were a great source of both inspiration and information to me. Thanks and keep up the good work!
