Wow, that was kind of unusual for me, to go missing in action for a whole week. But it has been a busy week, primarily with Carnaval activities but also with knitting, and hanging out, and sleeping in, and other decadent Carnaval week pursuits. Around here, nothing, and I mean nothing gets done during Carnaval week except partying and sleeping. Government offices, most small stores, civic projects, and schools are closed.
I plan on getting back in the blogging zone tomorrow, but I thought you might like to check out my video of the parade on Sunday. The theme this year is “Patriotic Fervor” as Mexico celebrates both the 200th anniversary of its Independence and 100th anniversary of its Revolution. The entire year has been proclaimed as “Año de la Patria,” or “Year of the Nation.”
See you soon!

February 17, 2010Cool video. I think next year we will go to both, as I like the dancers, too. Despite the panic last night, I still appreciated to the max, the effort this lovely city puts in to provide an exciting, colorful time for its inhabitants and vistors. Again, the flotsam on WhatsupMaz, etc. ….

February 17, 2010In Mazatlan you certainly know how to party. Not much happening in San Miguel de Allende.
