I know many of you think that it’s too hot to knit here in Mazatlán, but I always have a project going. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately. At the top of the post is the project I’m working on now… a kind of crazy tunic pattern with square holes. I am using my backwards knitting technique a lot on this one!
Below are some things I made my granddaughter since she’s going to college in a colder climate than she’s used to – a beret, two headband/earwarmers and a cowl.
Next is a baby blanket made for a friend’s new little boy. It’s actually a light blue color, I have no idea why in the photo it looks gray. I am also working on a set of boot cuffs for my granddaughter that I didn’t finish in time for my trip North.
What do you do to express your creative side?

August 21, 2014I don’t think there is any nicer present than one someone took the time to make themselves.

August 31, 2014I admit I am knitting more this summer than last. It’s hot here in Nayarit and sometimes it’s hard to pick up the needles and continue. Luckily, I generally knit with cotton fibers. No wool for me!! And then I also escape upstairs to the bedroom and weave. There is always residual cool air up there from the AC at night. For me with the knitting, it’s always shawls. And with the weaving, shawls and tea towels.
