Shhhhhh… it’s quiet time.

Mazatlán is an interesting place to live because it has a lot of different phases. Carnaval is busy and noisy, Winter is filled with art openings, theater, fundraisers, and other social events. Summer is here, but where is the rainy season?

Summer arrived in Mazatlán a bit late this year, but it is in full swing now.  I think there have only been four rains so far this year, though… and that just doesn’t seem like enough!  Yesterday seemed like a particularly steamy day and towards evening we had our usual discussion about whether it just might rain overnight.  The rain brings a bit of humidity but it cools off the concrete, too, and that helps a lot. Summer in the Kitchen

We’re in summer mode in the kitchen these days.  But even with it being warm, I have been enjoying cooking and baking more than ever.  I just turn on the overhead fan and it keeps me cool while I work. This morning I had a smoothie, my favorite summer breakfast.  Carrot, Banana, Pineapple, Yogurt, A few pieces of frozen strawberry, granola, and water.  (I am not a fan of milk.)  We have a Vita-Mix blender and it will make a...
