My Mazatlán Morning

I was out on my bike this morning, and what a beautiful morning it was! The malecón is WAY less busy now that the tourists have gone home since kids are back to school. I stopped a few times along the way to take pictures with my new camera. Los Pinos above, Playa Norte below. Flor de Mayo (Plumeria) in my Mazatlán garden

I am in love with some of the plants that are just ordinary plants around here. But to me they are spectacular – especially the lovely flor de mayo – or to most of you – plumeria. I suppose if someone from Mazatlán moved to Washington State they would be similarly stunned by the rhododendrons and azaleas seen everywhere! End of the season…

Here in Mazatlán, the snowbirds have gone North again and those of us who stay all year wonder why they leave so early. The weather is perfect – in the 80’s during the day and 60’s at night.  The beaches are ours again, and the water is pleasant. Beer is 15 pesos, you can buy a mango on a stick or a cup full of cut up watermelon… and along with a good book, what more could you want?x Last...
