The Wednesday Tianguis in Ajijic

January 5, 2019

We love going to the Wednesday tianguis in Ajijic.  Whether you need produce, a new pair of socks, a necklace, some coffee or a pancake flipper you will find it there.  Take a look at the photos above to see what fun it is!  And I only took pictures of about 1/20th of the vendors!  (Page through the photos above with the right/left arrows)

    1. I know you don’t live in Mazatlan any more…but just in case…Are you aware where we can play pikle ball in Mazatlan?

      1. Susan, if you know Steve and Sheila Luengen, who live in Cerritos, Steve plays.
And Nancy, thanks for the great blog! Love it!

    1. Those are wonderful photos…I used to be able to get the flans you show in one of the photos…Can’t find it anymore in Maz…I guess I need to move to Ajijic!

      1. Did you see Cristina’s comment? She said “Oh–by the way–those dishes of brown-on-top-custard are a Jalisco specialty called jericalla! Similar to flan but not flan.”

    1. Always loved the Ajijic markets, Nancy. I’m drooling over the raspberries for some reason. A very happy new year to you and Paul. We are well and enduring the rain!!

      1. Hi Anne! Yes, the berries are amazing here but OMG also the figs! Happy new year to you and Peter, miss you two! xoxo

    1. Fabulous!! Do you bring a wagon to haul it all home?

      1. Between the Monday organic market and this one I am set for the week pretty much. A couple of big bags is our usual haul. Come see!

    1. Happy New Year, Nancy! Your pictures are wonderful–it’s a marvelous tianguis. I always went every Wednesday to shop, to socialize with my neighbors and the vendors, and in general to have a great day. To me, it’s the best market in Ajijic. Thanks for posting!

      1. Hi Cristina! Happy New Year to you, too! I think I’m going to have to try a jericalla! xoxo

    1. Ohhhhh, I would never leave the place. All those wonderful things to see, use, and EAT!!

    1. Tianguis are such a fun way to shop. When I lived in CDMX there was a tianguis down the street every Saturday. There I did much of my weekly shopping, especially for household goods. And there were plenty of food posts too, which was yummy.

      1. Hi Kim! Tianguis are the best, so much to try and see and it changes week to week. Love your ever-changing signature! xoxo Nancy

    1. What an amazing array of fresh fruits and vegetables.
You caught the colours of the tianguis, and the sheer variety, really well.
      Makes me want to go!
